Campaign Introduction

Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą
For Your Freedom and Ours
Poland, September 1939

"Polska nie zginęła, kiedy my żyjemy..."
("Poland is not lost, as long as we live...") — Mazurek Dąbrowskiego

The summer of 1939 ends with tension stretched to the breaking point. The clouds of war have gathered once more over Europe—and Poland stands alone at the crossroads of history.

On 1 September, German forces launch a sudden and brutal assault on the Polish Republic, striking without declaration and with overwhelming strength. Waves of panzers tear across the western frontier. Stukas scream over civilian convoys. Border outposts are engulfed in flame.

Yet Poland does not surrender.
From the mountain passes of the south, through the forests of Kampinos, to the Baltic coast, the nation rallies. Regular troops, border guards, cavalry brigades, rail engineers, factory workers, and citizen militias form an improvised shield. The Polish Air Force launches desperate sorties from improvised airfields. Naval troops make heroic last stands in coastal fortresses. Armored trains and tankettes race to delay the invader.

This is not a story of victory.
This is a story of valor.
A story of unity—of a people who stood against impossible odds, not only for their land, but for a principle etched into the Polish soul.

The screenshots show the intro briefing of the first mission, the outro briefing of the last mission.

What is there in v1.0?

- The first version of a Polish campaign, set in September-October 1939.
- 15 scenarios
- hero pictures, hero units (some join the army, some not)
- core army is saved after the last mission

The package includes an adjusted equipment file but can be replaced by your personal equipment file. You do need Polish units from October 1938.
During the campaign, you can get up to 2 Polish elite units. My efile has them included, make sure your efile does too.

After the first mission, the campaign branches but for now only the first option is available. The second option will be available once i finished the missions for that leg of the campaign.
I hope you will enjoy playing this campaign as much as i did.

The second leg of the campaign is currently under development.
You can always join the discussion here or in the Slitherine forum: https://forum.slitherine.com/viewtopic.php?t=118137

I am currently still looking for Polish units, more or less in the same color as the vanilla icons for Poland. Thank you in advance.

Development update and campaign outline

Polish September Campaign (1939)
For your freedom and ours" - Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą

Introductionary scenario: Return to Zaolzie (released). Campaign splits in two (threeways under consideration).
Leg 1: 14 scenarios (released) - historical
Leg 2: under development - historical
Leg 3: under consideration - ahistorical
Final scenario: Fight or Flight? (released). Core army is saved at the outro briefing.

Leg 2 Introductory text:

Tension hangs over Poland like a thundercloud. For months we have watched the Germans arm themselves, tear apart Czechoslovakia, and issue ultimatums. Now, on the eve of September, all illusions are gone. The enemy is coming — and we stand alone.

The Polish Army is outnumbered and outgunned. Their tanks are faster, their skies full of bombers. But we have more than machines. We have the will to resist. We have our homes to defend.

From the cavalry fields of Mokra to the river crossings of the Narew, from the trenches of Wizna to the burning streets of Warsaw — Poland will fight.

And though defeat may come, we will not vanish quietly. For this is not only a battle for our freedom, but for yours as well.

More about leg 2 soon

And now i announce the continuation campaign for the Polish after the Fall of Poland.

Polish Exile Campaign (1940–1945).
The Fighting Eagle - Orzeł Walczący

Core army is imported from the Polish September Campaign!
Likely number of scenarios at release: 21.

Polish Exile Campaign introductory text:

In September 1939, Poland was crushed between two giants. Though the homeland fell, her soldiers did not surrender. Thousands escaped through Hungary, Romania, and the Baltic, finding new battlefields under foreign flags.

This is the story of those who refused to let the white eagle fall.

From the frozen fjords of Norway and the collapsing fronts of France, your journey will take you through the sun-scorched deserts of North Africa, the bloodied mountains of Italy, and the shattered cities of Western Europe.

Your men will fight in British uniforms, with Allied weapons, but their hearts remain fiercely Polish — loyal to a government in exile and the dream of a free homeland.

As the war reaches its conclusion, you will face a grim choice: to lay down arms, or to defy history once more and challenge the new tyrant rising in the East.

The world may have abandoned Poland... but Poland has not abandoned the world.

Let the eagle rise and strike.

Development update:

All 14 scenarios of the second leg are created of which 5 scenarios still need testing. The next update is definately taking shape.

Now i can announce the third leg of the campaign:

Alternate-History Third Leg - 14 what-if scenarios

They told us Poland would fall in two weeks. That we were doomed the moment their tanks crossed the border.
But here we stand. Weeks later, still fighting. Still breathing.
We’ve watched cities burn, bridges collapse, and friends fall. The Germans strike from the west, the Soviets creep from the east. They think we’re finished. That we’ll lay down our arms and accept defeat.
They are wrong.
Every forest we hold, every train we derail, every village we defend is one more blow against their victory. They may have more tanks, more planes, more men — but we have something they cannot break: our will.
We fight not because we expect to win. We fight because it is right. For our families. For our country. For those who will remember.
The world may forget how Poland was betrayed. But it will never forget how Poland fought.
Za wolność Waszą i Naszą.
For your freedom and ours.
Now, saddle up. The war is not over yet.

Coming soon.
