i see, thank you for your input. paradox seems to like to milk that venerable "Clausewitz engine'' for as long as people can remember. i'm having a second thought about it but the title itself is just too good to pass on. it is the very first time (that i know of) the "Golden Horde" from the east is seriously taken into consideration in a game. i know the Japanese (Koei-Tecmo) took a shot at it almost 20 years ago on nintendo/sega-mega-drive and i got the kick out of it. the idea of "not" nation-building your way into an empire, the ability to capture the queens from the conquered territories and turned 'em into your own concubine (and yes more sons) in your backyard was virtually unheard of. i think i'll just give it a go without a due process. again, too tempting to pass it up.
the other title i'm assuming you're talking about is 'glory of generals." the game basically works like it's predesessors, ie. panzer generals, panzer tactics, panzerkorps..... etc., but here comes the twist: the game offers several alternative routes in each of its major campaign, that is, when the third reich is actually winning the WWII. for instance, von Manstein's panzer-armee pushed through the encirclement and rescued Paulus and his 6th armee. Rommel's DAK did a full sweep into Egypt and Suez Canal. those two are just a few examples of what's to come in the game. i just finished the campaign in Arctic, after i successfully defended the base & repelled the invasion from all Allied forces.
