I routinely clock in at 1-2.5 MB download speed. But it will still invariably conk out after a couple minutes.

It has been over a month since this first got mentioned, and there is Still no progress towards this problem being fixed on my end. At present the download has hung uncontrollably at 130 MB out of 600, with a supposed download speed of 2.0 MB/s.

Can someone please help deal with this? Either by checking through the download service here, or by mirroring the zip somewhere else?

Hi Turtler,
unfortunately I had no time in the last month to fix this issue with the original download, but I uploaded a segmented version of the download just today.
It's a 6-part 7-zip archive, so you would need all of them to put it together, but since no package is bigger than 100 MB, there should be no issue with the download.

I hope this will fix your issue and please excuse the inconveniences...

I was able to download the files with a little bit of help. I would periodically see the files hang when they were very near completion, and even when they did not there were significant times when they were near frozen and it looked like they might have hung. But the file sizes were small enough that the download could complete, so it could be a matter.

EDIT:

Nevermind about what was here before. I found out what was wrong with the "White screen of Death" when I hit the menu.

The last time I had launched the base game, I had it on Allied Corps. Since this mod was based on an old version where PC: Wehrmacht was the main thing in town it did not project the menu for the mod onto the slots for AC, SC, or AK.

When I cranked open the main game and shifted it back to PC Wehrmacht and then went back to start Ostfront, the menu appeared as normal and functions excellently.

Happy to hear that. It's still far from ideal, but at least we could now provide you with the work of our modders.
I hope to have time to start a new approach on fixing the big file issues during the summer, but so far there was no time for that (and with my current workload I doubt it will come true till September)
For now, we will have to stick with the segmented downloads. I will create the according versions for other big downloads as well, maybe during the weekend.

As I commented earlier, there is a segmented version of the download by now, which everyone should be able to cope (the max size of the segments is 100 MB, which seemed to work well for all reporting users)
All the parts need to be downloaded and be present in the same folder, then the first file could be opened with your preferred archive application (e.g. 7-zip)
